Another Hankie Quilt From Linda

I’m pretty confident that Linda has a sizeable collection of hankies from a bevy of people that have influenced her life. She has started to put them in quilts so she can enjoy more of them at once. It’s a great idea!

This is a Christmas themed Hankie quilt she did using lace and portions of hankies. She also embroidered a beautiful Merry Christmas script in the center.

Some of these hankies were quite slippery and had some fullness to them. Trying to get a vintage hankie to lay flat is asking A LOT!  🙂

Because of those issues, we decided that a meander would be the best approach to her quilt. I made a holly and berry flowing meander wandering around through the hankies and stayed off the embroidery so it could be the star of her quilt.

Linda works at the Smocking Shop here in Louisville. She is a great resource for embroidery ideas and would love to meet you if you swing by!
