This is Pat’s Block of the Month quilt. Have you heard of the quilt shops who offer a $5 initial fee for the pattern/fabric for one block and as long as you bring in the completed block by the next month, you get that month’s fabric/pattern free? Well, this is the result of the one Pat took!
What I love about this type of class is it gives you great learning opportunities on a small scale. Everybody can get a block done in a month, right? And in the mean time, you are learning new techniques and piecing methods as you go.
I used the Lime Tree pantograph on Pat’s quilt. It flowed well with the florals she’s used in the top and it was a bit more folksy too. I think it turned out great!
This quilt is for Pat’s granddaughter and I understand she has already seen it and given her approval!
If you are interested in a Block of the Month class like Pat took, give your local quilt shop a call. Chances are pretty good that they’ll have some type of Block of the Month special to help you improve your piecing skills while getting a fabulous quilt in the process!
