Quilting Costs
My pricing is based on square inches. To determine the square inches in your quilt, multiply the length x width. If your quilt is 85” x 90”, the total square inches are 7650” (85x90=7650). Multiply that by the price per square inch to get the total price for quilting.
I will be happy to provide you with a free estimate!
• Budget Value Meander: This basic freestyle meander is our most inexpensive treatment. The quilting lines are placed generously apart and the density of quilting is very open. This type of quilting is priced at $0.017/sq. in.
• Freestyle Meandering and Edge to Edge: All over, edge to edge simple patterns and pantographs. This style of quilting begins at one edge of the quilt and extends all the way to the other edge without regard to piecing seams or block. This level of quilting is our most popular and we have dozens of patterns to choose from. $.02/sq in
• Semi-Custom: Single block design and one border design. This level of quilting may require a turning charge depending upon the quilting pattern. This level of quilting also includes intricate Edge-to-Edge patterns: $.03/sq in
• Custom Quilting: Includes set in designs, sashing designs and border designs. In this level of quilting each portion of your quilt is treated individually. (May include turn charge depending on pattern) is $.037- $.045/sq in
• Heirloom Quilting: stitch in the ditch with monofilament thread, trapunto work, micro-stippling set in designs and involves very complex quilting begins at $.05/ sq inch and up
Batting
Batting and Backing needs to be a minimum of 8" wider and 8" longer than your top. If, for example, your top is 50 x 50, you need batting and backing that is 58 x 58. The extra allows me to have the needed room to attach your quilt to the frame and you get all the extra back in the end. .
My preferred batting is Hobb's Heirloom 80/20 cotton batting. You can supply the batting for your top or get it from me.

Hobb's 80/20 Batting, in Natural, 96" wide batting
$ 8.50/ yard

Hobb's 100% Unbleached Cotton w/scrim 96" wide batting $ 10.50/ yard

Warm and Natural 50/50 120" wide batting
$ 9/ yard.

Hobbs Heirloom Wool 108" wide batting

$ 17/ yard
Please note: There are some battings that do not work well with the longarm. Please ask me before sending your own batting.
Preparation of Quilt Top
Please send your quilt top and backing pressed and squared up.

Squaring up quilt $ 20.00

Pressing $ 20.00
Backing
Clients may supply their own matching backing, or choose 90" wide bleached or unbleached muslin at $6.25/yard sold in 1/4 yd increments. Sheets are not the best choice of backing for your handiwork. If you must send a sheet as a backing ensure that you have washed it in hot water a number of times to ensure it has shrunk as much as it wants.

To figure this cost, multiply the cost of the service you want, times the total inches of the four sides of your top. We ask for one yard of uncut fabric to construct the binding.
